MILBRANDT VINEYARDS
Legacy 2005 Merlot, Washington State
Like most varieties, Merlot is site sensitive. It has an ability to showcase the subtleties of terroir as well as any of its noble peers. When planted in the right location, Merlot can deliver wines that are hedonistic and intellectually compelling. Over the past two decades Washington State has become celebrated for its superb Merlots.
Our 2005 Legacy Merlot is a smorgasbord of ripe blackberry, spice, tobacco, plum, cherry, and coffee. It is dense, lush and voluptuous. We include a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in the blend for additional structure, color and weight. The wine finishes with a dash of oak, a hint of cassis and a dollop of cedar.
